Handeracy

October 2, 2026 โ€” I invented another new word: Handeracy[1]. I define it as the ability to manipulate nature with your hands. It mirrors the words literacy and logeracy.

Someone handerate is fluent with lifting, squeezing, rubbing, pushing, pulling, turning, dropping, and so forth. Someone handerate can cook, woodwork, plumb, wire, mechanic, sew, weld, solder, shape, et cetera.

Someone literate can take an idea and break it down into the correct symbols and words, someone handerate can just do things without any words.

Someone literate is fluent with terms like verb and noun and adjective. Someone logerate is fluent with tools like blades, hammers, drivers, pliers, wrenches, et cetera.

Isn't this already covered by "handy"?

Yes, but maybe if we make the word longer academics will pay attention.
